I was irked that the book quickly oversteps being a writing guide and starts casually claiming sales genius. Reason I still give 3 stars is that it’s apparent from Mish’s writing that she has clear advice and expertise in engaging writing.

I wish the book stayed in  › Kindle Store › Kindle eBooks › Business & Money. This is a great choice for an intro to lit class. I used it for my Short Story Writing class this fall with great results.

It has an excellent far-reaching selection of "canonical," "multi-cultural" and "marginal/experimental" texts and the latest edition even includes For a complete list of common abbreviations used in academic writing, see Chapter 7 of the MLA Handbooks for Writers of Research Papers, 7th edition, and Chapter 8 of the MLA Style Manual and Guide to Scholarly Publishing, 3rd edition.
